Details
Remedy 8 hits the sweet spot in performance and value in the all-mountain category. A lightweight alloy frame, SRAM GX Eagle component spec, a premium RockShox Lyrik 160mm fork, and 150mm rear shock make it the ideal ride for shredders who want ridiculously capable mountain bike for ridiculously fun trails.
It's right for you if...
You like getting rowdy on rough trails. Your wheels leave the ground often, and you want an alloy bike that's durable enough to handle whatever you throw at it. You don't shy away from gnarly trails. Your bike shouldn't either.
The tech you get
A light and tough Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame, a 160mm RockShox Lyrik RC fork, and 150mm of rear travel with an exclusive RE:aktiv rear shock. Plus, a SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, SRAM Guide R four-piston hydraulic disc brakes for more stopping power, a Bontrager Line dropper post, and Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels with a 54-tooth Rapid Drive hub for fast engagement.
The final word
It's Trek's highest-end aluminum Remedy. The durable alloy frame, 27.5-inch wheels, and premium suspension make it the perfect ride to dish out and stand up to some serious abuse on the trail. If you're measuring your rides in rad per dollar, you won't do better than Remedy 8.
Why you'll love it
1 - This is Trek's best blend of performance and value in the Remedy family: an Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame with the same spec as much higher-end bikes makes this model a smokin' deal
2 - RE:aktiv damping keeps the shock firm for efficient pedaling and pumping, and instantly soaks up bumps to keep you in control
3 - It surfs down rough trails and conquers jumps with sure-footed confidence, then flies back to the top with its extra low 50-tooth climbing gear
4 - The shifter-style, underbar remote dropper post lever is super intuitive and easy to use

Don't Get a Slash get a Remedy, it has a little less suspension but its way more responsive and light weight. Its trail oriented but I have gone off 40 foot jumps on it and it handled it perfectly. It's my new favorite bike.

Comments:
I've been riding the bike since the beginning of summer, and its holding up just fine. No problems in the wheels even after jumping a ton and doing some gnarlier DH trails with it. My only quarrel with the frame is that if you ever run a chain guide, i.e. remove your front derailleur, there is no good way to plug the internal routing holes for the cable. Same problem happens on the internal cable poret for the stealth reverb post. I just streched some black electrical tape over them and no more problems! So a small thing to gripe about but a super easy fix! Awesome bike

Comments:
Cheap Components?? Please. Destroy the cheap ones (they will last longer than you think) then put on your XTR or Sram or Race Face. Just got this rig 2 days ago and already have 3 rides. Came from the Coilair that got Jacked in HB. One thing I do notice is that my cranks and pedals are hitting the ground more, but feel more confident being lower to the ground. Riding the Luge this weekend so I will post more then. So far the bike lives up to what it was built for PURE FUN - No Shuttle!!. I am 260 so I will be putting this rig through the durablity test.

Comments:
I ride alot. This bike performs well in all situations. Took it to Moab and Fruita, was very happy to have all the travel. At 30.5 pounds, you can still march up hills, the rear suspension really works. My only complaint is the fork, which has broken twice in 6 months, that is Rock Shox issue, not Trek.I am definitely more confident on this bike than my lighter XC bike, and choose it on a regular basis. It gets lots of attention on the trail, everyone thinks it is cool!
